Catholic school students in Madrid during an art field trip to the Prado. Together, they stood, looking closely at a massive renaissance painting, speaking not a word. From the back, they looked identical: body shape, hair length, stance and shoes. But closely observed there are, of course, traces of singularity such as the exact length, curliness, and tone of their long brown hair, the purse, the way one girl’s hand slipped around her waist.
