Malta Dogs 

These two mutts hung out in my neighborhood in Malta, and at first I thought they’re too ugly to photograph, the space too dingy. But I reconsidered after giving myself a good scolding for being a despicable snob. The dogs sat staring in opposite directions, covering their domain and, eventually, I fell in love with the white stripes between their ears and the way their speckled fur blended with the beaten up background.
