You Never Know 

 I found the matching driver and passenger quietly parked outside Walkertown Elementary School in rural Forsyth County, N.C. one weekday morning. I’d seen shirted car seats before, but never masked. It felt auspicious to begin a day teaching writing with a weird moment of theatre silently performed in the concrete parking lot.
